Nobody can describe the thing they are looking at. "The round one." "Next to the other one." "No, further left." Then they send a photo of the wrong side. Just show them instead. Point your phone at it, and they watch it live on their own screen, wherever they are. If it is dark under the sink, they can turn your flashlight on themselves. The picture goes straight from your phone to theirs and never through us. It is much shorter than arguing about which round one. ◎
All very nice. But nobody gets to use you until they have looked at me first. The code on that screen is me. I am not the next best thing — I am the door. ▦
You are right, and I could not find an argument against it. There is a code you can read out loud instead — but I have never once seen anybody do that. ◎
I do the same job from further away: I make everybody look at the same page, from the same angle. One picture, one version of what it looked like.
True — although if somebody is that curious, they can point me at their own screen and let the other one watch it live. It is not elegant. It works. ◎
